Today, Microsoft has finally announced when it will be rolling out the newest version of Windows. Windows 10 is coming on July 29 as a free upgrade to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users (for one year).

To prepare for the date, Microsoft is sending out notifications to users of older versions prompting them to reserve their free copy.

Microsoft’s latest OS will be available to pre-order in the coming weeks when it launches in 190 different markets around the world.

The reservation process is simply a way to opt-in to the free upgrade ahead of time. Once it becomes available, if you’ve opted-in, the update will automatically download and install for free.
